Instantly Grasp the Whole Picture

Introducing parts of a whole charts. Visualize the break down of individual components and how they contribute to the overall total.

Try Complement Bars for More Intuitive Comparisons

Say goodbye to busy pie charts! We're thrilled to introduce Complement Bars, an effective way to visualize part-to-whole relationships.

Unlike pie charts, which force you to estimate proportions based on area, these bars clearly show the measured percentage against its 100% complement (shaded gray). This helps provide context and makes it easy to compare multiple categories against each other. Use them to clarify survey results or highlight contributions to any total.

The human eye is far better at comparing bar lengths than estimating the sliced areas of a pie chart.

Introducing Pie and Donut Charts

Sometimes, you simply need to see the whole picture at a glance. We're happy to announce this update brings beautifully designed Pie and Donut charts to Graphmatik.

When you have only a few categories to compare, these charts provide the most immediate understanding of how each slice contributes to the whole. Use them to showcase budget allocations, the distribution of species, or any simple division of a total.

Visualize Proportions with Waffle Charts

Need an intuitive way to represent percentages? Meet our new Waffle Charts! These unique visualizations use a 10 x 10 grid, where each square represents 1%. They are perfect for visualizing proportions or progress towards a goal in a visually engaging format.

Waffle charts are a drop in replacement for pie charts and are great at showing key metrics by displaying a clear, discrete count of the percentage achieved.

Small Multiples for Deeper Analysis

Like the look of pie and donuts charts, but tired of them becoming busy with too many slices? We've introduced Small Multiples Drilldowns alongside their release as a solution for complex compositions.

With small multiples, you can convert any cluttered Pie, Donut, or Waffle chart into a series of small, focused charts. Each mini-chart isolates one component, displaying its individual contribution against a grayed-out total. This strategy allows for the comparison of multiple categories at once, turning an otherwise overwhelming visualization into a set of clean, easy-to-read insights.

Powerful New Stacked Bar Charts

We're elevating your grouped analysis options with new, versatile Stacked Bar Charts. These charts are perfect for comparing how different sub-groups contribute to a total across multiple categories.

With a single click you can convert any standard stacked bar chart into 100% Stacked Bars, instantly showing proportions relative to the whole. Further, when visualizing ordinal data like Likert scales, you can easily diverge the bars around a user-defined anchor point (e.g., "Neutral" responses).

Use this feature alongside 16 new diverging color palettes to clearly highlight the spread of positive versus negative values.
